Isaac sat in the middle of a dusty room, dim light from the domed glass ceiling cascading down on him.
It was raining again.
No, no, no, NO!
He tore the parchment in front of him and threw its crumpled remains against the wall. It was the perfect plan. Not like the previous 46 perfect plans. This one would work. It had to work. It should have worked.
Every time... every time the same result. Why? Whats holding me back?? What am I dont wrong?!
He clutched his head so hard he would have bleed if he could. Instead the tiny turning gears pulsed and creaked under the pressure, reminding him that he was still alive.
He slumped back down to the floor, trying to clear his muddled head. It had been 3 months since Esmeralda died. 3 months since he smiled. 3 months since he left that room. And even though his body neednt sleep, nor eat - nor dream - he was quickly approaching

You Were Not An Aquarium BoySea-glass became your bones,
brine your blood, and seashells
melded into your skin.
You were not quite an ocean
when you said "This is your sign to love me."
My body was like a building;
tall, cold, almost unbreakable.
I was metallic and sharp,
towering over your waters.
I remember taking your hand in mine,
conch and coral shells scrubbing
my skyscraper wrists, and laughing
about how one day you would
submerge every last bit of me.
Your lips, riddled with argonauts,
found my cheek and I cringed
at the coarseness.
You asked if they bothered me
and I finally told you "I
think I love you."
