Emerald Orbs: GuardRoom by ExiledChaos Emerald Orbs: GuardRoom by ExiledChaos
The final product of my first illustration for Emerald Orbsstory and campaign by Pat Bowron. These are his characters Sarik (the dwarf) and Dagen (human in back). They've just entered an old ominous fortress guardroom and Sarik is peering into the next room through a broken old doorway to go exploring x3. I used alot of black in the bg to give a scary mood and bright a better light to the characters in front.

This was so much fun to do. I've never really drawn Dwarves or armor, or beards :giggle:, but I loved how it turned out. I'm still kind of new with the whole black/white ink drawings so if anyone has advise I'd appreciate it =) Although I'm still really glad about how this looks... I just hope it's not too busy.

Oh cool, very bold with the stark black and white. I would be a little careful, though... the piece gets a little flat near the top, and things look a little jumbled; I have a hard time telling that the guy in back is in back, if you know what I mean. Maybe a little cross-hatching to get some half-tones? Or just vary your line widths a little more.

Still, it's pretty awesome, especially for your first try with armor and such.

Yeah =/ I was afraid about that. That and that the spider web would get too confusing. I'll make sure to pay better attention to the line weight and crosshatching in the future =) Thanks!
