Emerald Orbs Progression by ExiledChaos Emerald Orbs Progression by ExiledChaos
Full view! or you won't see anything... I hate how dA sizes thumbnails e__e;

This is what I do for my new job ^__^ This is a progression from initial planning sketch, to B/W test, to lineart, to final ink drawing.

Drawings done for Pat Bowron and his independent Dungeons and Dragons story and campaign: Emerald Orbs.

Woaaaaaaaaaah, that is just amazing! Love the way I can see how you start the drawing and until the result. ^^ It's so awesome to see the work in process. :heart: And what a result it is. It's just... Wow... I am so envious!

yeah, I like the second one too just because some of the b/g detail is more apparent, but I think your handle of the high contrast is stunning! I love that battle axe...

What amazingly detailed work! :o I am a big fan of D&D myself, and this is quite good. I'm particularly drawn to the second and fourth panels - the lineart look of panel 2 caught my attention immediately. Especially the eyes. ^_^ The fourth panel looked like something out of an actual art book - like those art books that fantasy companies sell and you see on shelves of book stores? Yes. This should be quite the feather in your cap - this is truly breath-taking.

I have only one question: Are you planning to color it, or leave it b/w?

Thank you very much! =D

He only requested a black and white illustration, but I might see if I can color it for fun, since I've received multiple questions about that x3

Yeah, I bet you have. By the dizzying dozen, no doubt. :XD:

I'm sure the coloring will go well, especially to the hungry masses that want to see this piece in color. :D Best of luck on that, seeing as you've a lot of detail to go through. O.o

wow, nice. like the spider web and expression on the characters.. think the lines should be just a bit more darker though coz, um, d n d is a rather dark and have lotsa fighting scenes. but maybe it's becoz i like to draw with lotsa lines.
