The final i did in my Oil Painting class, not working with local colors in case you didn't catch that >> I like the colors alot in this one, but oil painting in general wasn't that fun for me =( maybe I'll revisit it in the future when I can get a teacher that isn't rubbish...

Painted from a gesture drawing done in class

This is a very interesting work! I love how you brought all the colors together! And the shading on the figure really captures the eye!

Oil . . . oy . . . I break out in a rash just thinking about it (found out I was allergic to it)

yicks! O__O that sucks. it's pretty toxic stuff.. part of why I don't like oil painting that much is because it's so toxic... and the horrible paint thinner fumes X__x

I'm pretty sure it came about due to the fact that I took a couple of printmaking classes, one of which was metal plate lithography . . . talk about nasty chemicals. Acetone, benzine, paintthinners, and a bunch of other things to etch the metal plate O.o

I can't even do my own photo developing anymore, I break out in hives from the chemicals . . . sucks.

So I have to stick with acrylics, colored pencils, and the ';puter ;P

But it is known to build up in your system if you do it a long time . . . I wonder sometimes if that isn't why a lot of painters went a bit crazy? Something to think about . . . especially since they used lead based paint a lot as well.
