Deviation Actions
Yes... that's right... I am now taking commissions!! I'm very excited! So I made this deviation as a sample of each category. This journal will help to clarify the details of each commission section:
Commissions Prices:
Chibi Commissions:
(chibi are usually 3 to 4 heads high in my style)
Sketch: $5
Line Art: $10
Colored: $15
Additional Characters: +$5 each
Complex, depth BG: + $5 - $15 (depending on complexity)
Stylized Characters:
(my personal style: exaggerated body types, usually elongated limbs, and slightly large heads. Ratio varies widely depending on character type, but matches more closely to realistic proportions)
Sketch: $10
Line Art: $20
Digital Coloring:
(if wanting a traditional coloring, see traditional commissions section)
Single character cell-shade, no or simple background: $35
Single character soft-shade, no or simple background: $45
Complex Background: $10- $25 depending on complexity
Additional characters: + $10 each
Semi-Realistic/Realistic Characters:
(Paintings in a realistic style, with proper proportions and body types. I have been classically trained in art school for these. I can still do imaginary characters, or portraitures of real people. These are only available in full color. Listed commission price includes simple background details with a color overtone.)
Bust: $20
Waist: $35
Full Body: $50
Additional Characters: + $15 each
Complexity in character or background: + $15 - $40 depending on level of detail.
Character Design Sheets:
I have toyed with doing this for a while but after several more inquires I will add a special section to my commission list for this type of commission. For this, I will create a character sheet, not unlike this or this, where a profile of the character will be provided, along with an assortment of other sketches and poses, bios and color keys, done at the request of the commissioner.
All sheets will start with a base rate, at which the commissioner can add to for more detail. The purpose of this type of commission is to flesh out a character imagined by the commissioner and created by the artist. After creation and payment, that character will belong rightfully to the commissioner, to be used as they please. The only stipulation is that the commissioner does not claim the character sheet as their own work, and provide a link back to the artist's page when needed.
Each sheet will have by default: 2 orthographic full body poses (neutral pose and expression, front, back, side, ¾ front, or ¾ back.); 2 facial close ups; a color key; and a short bio provided by the commissioner. These features are set and cannot be taken away, but a number of drawings can be added, including a full turn around, more close ups, action or personality poses, and details of an aspect, such as an interesting tattoo or clothing, etc… Coloring can also be enhanced depending on the taste of the commissioner. Prices and features are as follows:
Sketch: Starting price $45 (for 2 lineart full bodies, 2 sketch faces, color key, and bio)
Flat colors: Starting price $56 (for 2 flat-color full bodies, 2 line faces, color key, and bio)
Fully rendered colors: Starting price $67 (for 2 fully colored full bodies, 2 flat color faces, color key, and bio)
Additional features :
Additional orthographic poses (Line: $15; Flat: $20; Rendered: $25) each.
Additional facial/bust shot close ups (Line: $5; Flat: $8; Rendered: $11) each.
Additional action/ personality poses (Sketch: $10; Line: $15; Flat: $20; Rendered: $25) each, Depending on Complexity.
Additional detail shots (Line: $5; Flat: $10; Rendered: $15) Depending on Complexity.
Complexity in character and design: $10 - $40 depending on level of detail (at the discretion of the artist)
So for example, if you wanted a front, side, and back flat color turnaround, with 2 lineart bust shots, and 2 sketch poses, the total would come to $96, since the template starts with the flat-color template. I base this off of what the first orthographic poses will be, as these will be the focal point of the sheet and used as a baseline for the character (the additional poses such as action and personality will likely be smaller and more simply done).
If the price seems steep, that's only because I am likely fully conceptualizing a character from the ground up. I take character creation very seriously and will continue refining the commission until the client it fully happy with it. Then after it's done, that character will belong to them entirely, to be used as they please
Traditional Commission (Watercolor and Colored Pencil on SoftPress WC paper)
The reason for the strange measurements is because I get the paper in very large sheets and the easiest way to reduce the size is to fold and cut it in half continuously. I do this to keep from wasting any of the paper, since it is very expensive.
Custom sizes, or a-typical shapes can be ordered. My regular price is about $10 per hour. Different paper shapes and sizes will be matched closest to the size on the list, with an additional fee for the special order.
Commissions will not have borders unless specified. If borders are wanted, (if you want to put something in a frame, for example), I usually add an inch on each side. The parenthesized size are how big the commission would be after the added borders; be aware that the borders will greatly change the size, this will not change the price.
Starting costs:
4.5 x 7.5" ( or 2.5 x 5.5") - $20
7.5 x 11" ( or 5.5 x 9") - $50
11 x 15" (or 9 x 13") - $120
15 x 20" (or 13 x 18" ) - $200
Larger – negotiable
(cost may change depending on number of subjects and detail in the environment, at my discretion)
(Originals can be mailed to the recipient at their request, with the additional cost of Shipping and Handling.
More Information
Commissions $50 and under will have a single payment when the commission is ordered. Commissions above $50 will have 2 payments, one at the order, then the other when the commission is complete, before it is to be posted or shipped.
My process is, after payment, is to do sketches based on any description or pictures you might have and get feedback on them from you until you are satisfied. I might also do a rough color composition in digital (for speed) and get your approval on it. After that, I will work on the commission in watercolor and colored pencil, and depending on the size of the order, post small progress updates of the painting.
For complex and pricey commissions, a small e-contract may be sent over email to clarify the order and process. At the conclusion of each commission before posting, a small contract will be sent to the recipient acknowledging that they will not use the commission in any use it is not intended (ex: reposting, reprinting, reselling, selling without permission, editing and copying.) Once signed, the commission will be sent to the recipient and posted online.
Payments can be made by check through mail (with time for it arrive and clear) and PayPal.
My Paypal is Bek.Crow@gmail.com.
I will only take 5 commissions at a time so I don't fall behind on them/ kill myself, lol.
If you have any more questions fell free to email me or note me here (noting here will be best).
Thank you again for all the support!

Update! Teaching, Zoo reception, projects, etc.
|Facebook|Website|Tumblr|
Hello everyone!
How are you this Labor Day weekend? I'm ok. Yesterday I went to a reception to honor me and the other artists for the Zoo Paint Out event, to showcase and silently auction off this piece I made, among many other great works:
Our pieces had been on display in their gallery for a month or 2, but I always forget to visit =\ but the reception was really wonderful; the biggest they've had in awhile I think. My piece had a few bids on it and sold for $300 or more (I never got to see the final price...).
It was slightly awkward actually, since at the end of the night when they were announcing who won wh
GENCON...SOON! And go like my facebook page!
I have been busting ass the get things all ready for GENCON >.>;. I'm actually in a good spot and everything should be fine (I didn't procrastinate on /much/ things) but still just nerves mostly....
I also just found out they had messed up my email, so I didn't get a vital email about their set up stuff till yesterday (when I should have got it weeks ago...) =__=; which is really annoying... Hopefully it won't effect me too much. I had also sent in some of my work to be showcased on their facebook page, since that's what tipped me off in the first place; my friend said they had emailed her for the art, and I never got any such email. T
Please Vote for Me!! =)
I was waiting and hoping to be able to get into the Sailor Moon Contest I made this for:
I had submitted it at the last moment, so I thought I might have to do some waiting anyway, but after more time passed I thought maybe I had been disqualified or something and was starting to lose hope...
So imagine my surprise when I go back to visit their page and see my work as their BANNER!! xD Omg.. I can't even believe it! So.. obviously I have made it into the finals, lol ;) It's not over yet though so we need people to vote for these awesome entries!

Sorta update....
Ehhh.. I had realized I forgot to ever post my commissions I got from Indy PopCon -
(which went fine xD I know I never posted any more about it, but I at least got some prints done in time for it and made table and a small profit. Not as good as ComicCon, but I'm starting to realize that what happened at ComicCon should not be expected on a regular basis xD ) -
so, I was scrambling around to try to find the scans and post them here when I realized I only took photos of them on my crappy iphone x__x I did manage to get a photocopy of one of them since my print/scanner was acting up so I couldn't scan directly, but I need to rescan I guess..

Yay for commissions! I hope you are getting a lot of them.
